Trent started GSS with an eye toward excellence and quality. With 20 years of experience in direct patient care, Trent has spent the majority of his life serving the public.
He started in 1999 as a patient care assistant in the hospital setting and served in a variety of areas. After obtaining his RN in 2005, he continued working in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit of a local hospital. In 2007 he moved to Houston and began working in a Level 1 Trauma Center, honing his patient care and assessment skills.
Eventually, Trent would become the Director of an Inner-city Emergency Department managing 40-60 employees and maintaining high standards for his team. He served as the Chairman of the Emergency Operations Committee at St. Joseph Medical Center during and after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. He was featured with his colleagues in an article titled "Hurricane Harvey Pushed Southeast Texas Hospitals to the Limit" published in ED Management magazine's November 2017 edition, as well as "On The Clock: Stories From Doctors and Nurses In Houston's Only Downtown Hospital" published by Houston Public Media on September 1, 2017.
In October 2017 in Nashville, TN, Trent received the Steward Healthcare Chairman's Award, the company's highest honor. The ceremony recognized 22 men and women from across the nation for their volunteer service and excellent service to the hospital.
